That plan pulls your finish date 2.3 weeks earlier than doing nothing. Same job, same family, same 24 hours.
Your enemy is not time, it is the 10pm work message. Put the phone in another room.
Where your 24 hours actually go
Committed: 18.5 of 24 hours. Your 3h slot plus the habits above add up to those 5.5 leftover hours, so nothing here asks you to invent time you do not have. It only asks where the hours you already have should go.
Thirteen years is long enough to change your entire life
GTA 5 came out on 17 September 2013. GTA 6 arrives 19 November 2026. That gap is 4,811 days, and no other game series has ever asked people to wait like this.
Do the arithmetic on yourself and it stings a bit. If you were 16 and playing GTA 5 in a school uniform, you turn 29 the year GTA 6 lands. If you were 22 and in your first job, you are 35 now, and there is a reasonable chance there is a wife in the picture, possibly a child, and definitely a manager who thinks 9pm is a normal time to message you.
That is the actual problem this tool solves. Not “how long is the game” — you can find that anywhere. The real question is which hours of your day you can still call your own after thirteen years of life happened to you.
Everybody has a window. Most people are looking for it at the wrong time of day
The mistake is hunting for a free evening. Evenings are the most contested hours in anyone’s day — dinner, family, the phone, the last work message. A slot you have to negotiate for is a slot you will lose most weeks.
What works is finding an hour nobody else wants. For a single working person that is 9pm to midnight, after the laptop shuts. For someone in a relationship it is weeknights after the goodnight call, while Saturday stays hers — trade one day, keep five nights, and everybody is happy. For a married man it is 11pm to 1am when the house is asleep and there is nothing to negotiate.
And if you have small kids, flip it entirely. At 11pm you are finished; you will fall asleep during the first cutscene. At 5:30am nobody has started making demands. The same ninety minutes that fails at night works in the morning, and ninety minutes on weekdays plus a few weekend hours clears the main story in under four weeks.
You already have the hours. They are going somewhere else
Before deciding you have no time, add up the honest numbers for your own situation. The hours on those buttons change depending on who you picked, because they should. A student loses about two and a half hours a day to scrolling; a father of two loses thirty minutes, because he does not have two and a half hours to lose in the first place.
Either way it is time already leaving your life, and none of it becomes a memory you keep. Reclaim it and it goes straight into Leonida. The student who gives up all three screen habits goes from 2.8 weeks to under a week on the story-plus goal. The married man with kids goes from 6.2 weeks to 2.9. Neither of them changed their job, their family, or their responsibilities.
Nobody ticks all four boxes and holds it for months. But tick one — the first one — and watch the finish date move. That is the entire trick, and it is why the numbers here are deliberately per-person rather than a flattering average.
Do this before 19 November
- Book the launch week off now, before your team fills the calendar.
- Tell your wife or girlfriend in October, not on launch night. Announced plans survive; surprises do not.
- Pre-download the day it unlocks. Launch-day servers will be a mess.
- Buy decent headphones. Midnight sessions live or die on volume.
- Finish the story before touching Online, or the story never gets finished.
How to keep your slot
- Same time every day. A fixed slot gets respected; a random one gets taken.
- Trade, do not fight. Give up Saturday afternoon, keep five weeknights.
- Phone in another room. The 10pm work message is the real thief.
- Stop at your end time even mid-mission. Overrunning is how the slot gets revoked.
- Skip 100% completion. Collectibles are homework, not the game.
Where the hour estimates come from
Rockstar has never published a length for GTA 6, so anyone quoting an exact figure is guessing. What we do have is HowLongToBeat data on the two closest games: GTA 5 runs about 32 hours for the main story, 51.5 with the good side content and around 89 for a full completion, while Red Dead Redemption 2 runs 50.5, 79 and 195. Leonida is reported at roughly twice the size of Los Santos and Rockstar’s design has moved toward RDR2’s density, so the 40, 65 and 130 hour figures here sit between the two games. They will be off by some margin. They will not be off by a factor of three.

About GTA 6 Playtime Calculator
GTA 5 launched September 2013 and GTA 6 arrives 19 November 2026, a wait of 13 years and 4,811 days. Long enough that people who started waiting in school now have jobs, partners and children. This tool takes your situation (student, working single, in a relationship, married, married with kids), breaks your 24 hours down into what is already committed, and names the specific window nobody competes for: 9pm to midnight for a single worker, 11pm to 1am for a married man, 5:30am for a father of small kids. Then it adds the hours you can reclaim from reels, YouTube autoplay and half-watched shows, and gives a finish date. Hour estimates derive from HowLongToBeat data for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, adjusted for the reported Leonida map scale. Runs entirely in your browser.
